Connecting Your Router Directly (Requirements)
To prevent impact from potential L2 loop and operator’s wrong congfiguration, we are stronglly suggesting members to connect IX network from your router straight. If you want to connect IX network from your switch, please first get confirmation from JKT-IX operators and make sure that you have configured your switch properly to prevent L2 loop and broadcast storm.
Multi-lateral Peering (Route Server Peering)
To prevent malicious traffic such as MAC address spoofing and L2 loop from entering the JKT-IX network, JKT-IX implements a MAC address filter. When we detect frames with a source MAC address that is not registered on our DB, We may shutdown the interface. Please keep your registered MAC address updated on IXP manager portal. If you want to check detected MAC address on your IX port, you can check through JKT-IX Dashboard.
